NEWS & DRIVERS
Spanish farm unions are pressing the agriculture ministry to activate supply-regulation mechanisms ahead of a potentially large 2026/27 crop, with debate intensifying over a possible withdrawal scheme—a signal that the trade expects continued price pressure. Separately, Tunisia is actively courting African buyers at a dedicated trade event in Dakar, seeking to diversify export destinations.
TUNISIA & OUTLOOK
At €3.433/kg (provisional), Tunisian EVOO trades €0.263/kg above Spanish EVOO but €1.077/kg below Italian, sitting mid-range among Mediterranean origins. With broad price softening across Spain, Italy, and Greece this week and regulatory intervention under discussion in Spain, bulk buyers should monitor whether the Spanish withdrawal proposal gains traction—any supply curb could quickly reshape the competitive spread across all origins.
